In 2013, she made her Bollywood debut with the film, Nasha, where she played the role of a teacher, who ends up having a sexual relationship with one of her students. Indian Fashion model Poonam received a lot of flak as after the posters of Nasha were released. The pataka Pandey wore nothing, but two placards tactfully placed to cover her nude body. It angered people and a group of protestors tore the posters and set them on fire on July 20, 2013 in Mumbai. Even after a lot of controversies, her debut film went on to become a dud.
